i waited all last week for these guys. and out they came this weekend. also this weekend: summer thunderstorms. more strawberries. ocean breezes. waves for james. this book (my curiosity was piqued). and lots of waiting tables.Â
these guys are actually southern magnolia blossoms and in real life they’re huge;) some of the blossoms are the size of dinner plates, no joke. and the book…is very good, if a bit scary.
Oh, that is magnificent, and yes you were quite patient to take the photographs in stages. That book looks really interesting, hadn’t heard of it before.

i love waking up to new sprouts and buds! happy monday.
Ooo, that book sounds really interesting. And I love the middle stage of the Dogwood blossom, it almost reminds me of a peony before it fully blooms.
