five little things that made my week.
1. this dresser drawer. {for being freshly reorganized (on the inside).}
2. this pocket dictionary.
{because it’s faye’s favorite new thing to be read out loud from. and because it’s shockingly satisfying to read the dictionary.}
3. this jar of frozen bay leaves.{for staying fresh and freeing up room in the spice cabinet.}
4. this little booklet.{because we’re very into cutting out shapes around here.}
5. this colorful scarf.
{because it’s technically james’s but i’ve adopted it for the week.}
other things:
in defense of gloria steinem.
zika, deli meat, and control over women’s bodies.
responsible flowers.
hospital bags around the world. via joanna.
hot sauce in her bag.
nyc–>la and back again. via girl gift gather.
ten reasons to embrace mojo de ajo. she had me at one.
a guide to valentine’s flowers, from someone who knows what she’s talking about.
such a sucker for public displays (of affection and other things).

Erin, I just finished your book this last week and actually said out loud “I finished it—now I’m sad!” to my fiance. Here’s to reading our faves more than once 🙂
Ha! So glad you enjoyed it!
Erin, your Friday “my week in objects” posts, are some of my favorite to read. Your photos always remind me to pay attention to the little things that bring joy, and find beauty in the every day.
I also appreciate the thoughtful articles you share with your readers. There’s always so much substance to them, something I can’t say for all “link roundup” type posts around the blogosphere. Today’s just seemed particularly wonderful. The article about Gloria Steinem was so important, and I truly learned something from the post about Beyonce’s song. Thank you for sharing, for inspiring and educating your readers.
Thanks so much, Stacy. It means so much to me to read this here.
“Halfway between New York and L.A., I imploded. I am so much happier now. ” 🙂
I like the picture of frozen (fresh) bay leaves! I was wondering about that exact thing literally yesterday. Have a happy weekend 🙂
Amazing! So glad!
Always have such an appreciation for little roundups. Have to say they really inspire my own. Hope you have a lovely weekend and a Happy Valentine’s day! However you choose to spend it 🙂
xo, Caitlyn
Thanks so much! So sweet to see Simple Matters on your list!
We have 8 children and I’m ALWAYS working to scale back and keep our large farmhouse full of children but not stuff. I’ve SO enjoyed your book…both it’s ideas and it’s lovely cover… which I find just as pretty on the shelf as it is on the couch or end table or bedside stand or on the kitchen table…
I love that you are freezing leaves. That was a bit of a duh! moment for me. Because I’ve been wondering what to do when I buy a bunch of fresh curry leaves but only need a few of them. I am so going to try this!
Hope you have a great start to your week!
