my week in objects (mostly).

March 22, 2013

five little things that made my week.

1. this white blanket.blanket {because we’re on a spending hiatus of epic proportions, but an all-cotton blanket made the cut}.

2. this basket.
basket {in a new spot that makes so much more sense}.

3. this plastic bucket.
compost {because it’s the perfect thing for carrying our compost to the market. coffee grinds in freezer and ripping plastic bags, be gone}.

4. these egg shells.
egg shells {for making such tasty salad}.

5. these dishes.
dishes {for not being a total eyesore while they dried}.

other things:
quilts to drool over.
my favorite soup: made vegetarian!
so many awesomely mini things.
museum guards.
sucker for ephemera. also, i need one.
food for thought: here. here. here. and, finally, here.

more from me, in other places:
the paper bag princess, sort of.
what’s in the water?
daylight.
spring in a bowl.

Do share where you found that amazing blanket. I love how it actually has a band vs. just a stitched hem. Thanks.

Hi Erin–I've been looking for some good flour-sack dish towels like the one you have…Any suggestions on where I might snag my own?

Hi there! Mine are from Fog Linen. They're a little bit different than what's currently in stock, but there are still lots of beautiful options!

Thanks for those articles about the Retro Wife–I'm looking forward to reading them. I was just discussing this topic with a friend of mine recently. I'm currently choosing to stay home for a little while, and it's interesting the kind of guilt I feel faced with because of it. I'll be interested to hear a larger conversation on it.

Where did you find your compost bucket, and do you store that compost bucket in the fridge or freezer? I want to start composting, and was thinking I'd need something a bit more substantial than a bag in the freezer. (A family of 3 coffee-drinking vegetarians produces a LARGE amount of compost materials…)

    Thanks!
