five little things that made my week.
1. this applesauce.
{for keeping me warm during a snowstorm}.
2. this snowy mum.
{for sticking it out}.
3. these curtains.
{because they’re making me change my mind about lace}.
4. this carbon copy.
{because my sister cait got the other copy. i’m a sucker for snail mail. especially from mildred}.
5. these snapshots.
{because they’re of my cousins. in brooklyn. 1910-ish}.
other things:
hurricane stories here and here.
these boots.
this {for big girls}.
these tears.
cute socks for manfriends.
and in case you missed it, hurricane relief.

the steam escaping from the apple sauce makes my insides melt, around this time last year I would be cuddled up by the log fire with a bowl of the same stuff. Beautiful post!
hope you can make a big bowl of your own, soon!
Beautiful week in objects. The snapshots are fantastic. They look like fun kids. I'm evolving on lace myself. My wife recently bought a dress with just the right kind and amount of tasteful lace.
aren't they terrific? such goofs!
all such lovely things!
Lovely photos! š
I love your weekly objects section!
I don't mean to be a smart ass by any means, but under number 5 you said "my cousins". Are you saying the kids in the pictures are your cousins?!
Yes! They're cousins, several generations removed! One's actually a great, great aunt, and the others are her cousins. Therefore, cousins o' mine, too!
those lace curtains are lovely! have a fabulous weekend!
kid on the left looks disturbingly like a young me.

Apple sauce with granola and yogurt is my favorite winter breakfast, with tea ofcourse!
Stay warm!
that sounds like a delicious breakfast habit!
Lovely curtains! And i adore snail mail too. š
The tears got me, too. I'm so proud to have someone with that kind of character represent us all. š
lovely post…x
what a cozy list of photos! and obama – what a class act. love him š hope you're enjoying the weekend!
I love snail mail too. I wish more people still wrote letters. They're much more fun to get and more personal than e-mails and text messages.
