ok. i know i might be pushing it here. a photo of my bath tub? with candles? things might be getting a little too close for comfort. but consider yourself lucky–no shots of my own sudsy gams, right? and besides, this is a public service announcement. it’s for your own good. promise.
it’s january. i’m back in new england. it is cold as shit (sorry). and spring is a long time coming.
it’s time to rally. tactic number one: bubble baths and sugar scrub.*
if you’re anything like me (that is to say, human) winter time in cold weather leaves your skin feeling dry and tight. well, for goodness sake, scrub it up. hurts so good, is all i can say.
and take bubble baths. it’s cold out. it’s dark early. indulge. in the wee hours after everyone’s asleep, if you have to. light a candle. bring in a book. take 20 minutes.
*i use a scrub made with natural ingredients and essential oils…my body is a temple, etc.
**before last week taking a bubble bath in my apartment was an impossible feat. unless of course one wanted to share bath time with floating bits of tub paint and rust-colored water. but while we were off adventuring our landlord fixed ‘er up for us, and now she’s shiny and fresh. no bath tub? just scrub. i promise it feels almost as good. and no one ever said you can’t shower with a candle lit.
