my week in objects (mostly).

February 19, 2010
five little things that made my week.

1. these blue seed pods.blue
{because they match my kitchen table perfectly. and they’re proof that a new england winter still has a little something lovely to offer}.

2. this cookbook.cookbook
{because i found it in a box in my parents’ home, ready to be given away. a rescue}.

3. this rose.rose
{because even though i’m not usually a red rose girl, this one was from my uncle. and so it cheered me up all week}.

4. this cup holder.coffeeholder
{because on a field visit for one of our classes, my friend kathryn adapted our awesome safety vests to suit her needs. genius}.
5. these sprinkles.sprinkle
{because they’re the remnants of valentine candy sent with love by my mom. once a valentine, always a valentine}.

what little something made your week?

sweet little snippets. it is amazing how we are always our parents children, isn't it. i was 42 when i lost my mother and the day she died she patted my hand like i was still 2. i cherish that.

And, well, you know what made my week. (And thanks for the note over there. You are a dear.)

Ahh such loveliness. I always admire your ability to step back and capture these moments. They conjure such a contemplative and perceptive existence… I usually feel so harried I don't stop and smell the roses.

I love your blue seed pods. My week was made by walking over the Golden Gate Bridge yesterday. I just felt like walking forever and Chris indulged me. We walked all the way to Sausalito and took the ferry home. Fun fun.
