to yourself. today’s motto (i decided). to honor it, i bought myself a cookie on the windy trek back from the archive where i spent the morning doing research. normally i would deny myself the luxury, not because of the sweet factor (banish the thought), but because of a list of other self-imposed limits (mostly having to do with the plastic packaging and my general rule to not buy baked goods i could make myself). but today, i put those little voices aside, and indulged. and it felt good. getting out of the funk.
It's good to relax the rules once in awhile. I feel myself getting uptight about things and then I realize it's sometimes good just to let it slide on the less important things.
I hear you. Normally I don't let myself order and enjoy sweets/pastries because I feel guilty. But the other day, I ordered a banana nutella turnover – with no guilt whatsoever. It felt luxurious and every single bite was unbelievable. Treating yourself is so important.
i made chocolate chip cookies today and ate 4! but i also walked 6 miles so i figure it evens out. i think it can be easy to go overboard with rules; i have some if the same ones you do.
I agree on the not buying things easy to make yourself, but on Sunday I bought myself a shot of espresso and a big slice of key lime pie, which I never do. It was really, really good.
i ate 2 PIECES of the Peach Pie I bought at the Farmer's Market this past weekend. Not because of the lack of self-control, because it looked like it was going bad. Seriously.
I actually did it this past weekend:) I went shopping with a friend, and spent money I rarely spend on a few nice wardrobe pieces. It had been way too long, and the painting duds were doing nothing for this girls appearance:)
Actually I think I might go buy myself (and my OH) a cookie… We're going for sushi tonight which is definitely a being nice to ourselves treat! Great motto

I made some cookies today–what is it about cookies that make you feel better? Wish I could send you one. Have a beautiful day!
Yay for cookies. Sometimes you've just gotta cut yourself some slack. Hope your spirits lift soon!
oh yes….it is always good to have a bit of an indulgence now and again.
Good that you treated yourself, sounds nice to have that something sweet on your windy walk.
Today I am having lunch with my sister, just us, looking forward to it.

I agree, sometimes you just need to buy that cookie. Or take that walk. Or make that phone call. Or watch that sappy movie.
Today it was a "make that phone call" day, I skyped with my college roommate who now lives in Switzerland.

I do need something good today. Hmmm, what will it be? Perhaps a cookie for me as well.
