make-believe: tea time.

September 6, 2012
tea-time
for days when lots of solo working away in my apartment starts to get to me, i like to have a little tea service at the ready for inviting friends and otherwise distracting myself. it’s true that heating up the kettle and filling up two mugs does the trick just as well, but i love being able to go back for seconds without brewing a whole new cup. i already have a mini tea pot (no surprise), but one of these days, when i’m feeling flush, i’m going to spring for something that could warm up a whole tableful of friends.

A good friend and I used to go to a local cafe and order a teapot for two whenever we needed to decompress. It was our little ritual. When I moved away she gave me a one person tea service and I think of her and our little custom every time I use it. Shared teapots are the best.

This is my favorite make believe! I'm kinda obsessed with tea! I have so many different kinds! Now I'm saving up money to go to a "paint your own pottery" place so I can paint my own tea pot!

    Happy Thursday!

My mom is British and tea is such an important part of her day and I also love tea. There is something truly wonderful about the brewing process:) Happy Monday

Beautiful tea things! I love the plumpness of the milk jug.

I love the ritual of making tea properly. I own four teapots – Two fou- cup and two two-cup, one of each size having an inbuilt strainer. I have also asked for a whistling kettle for Christmas.

What you need is a big metal tea room teapot!
