one of the best parts about living in a big city is the proximity to and the abundance of delicious places where you can eat. what’s even better than having an incredible selection to choose from, is having a few spots that you can always count on: the place that has the best grilled cheese, the other one with the best cheap taco, that little spot on the corner with best veggie burger. you know what i’m saying. for me, chez moi has the best cocktails in the neighborhood. it’s a spot where i can waltz in after work on a week day or invite a friend and know that i’m going to be met with something refreshing and delicious and just a little bit unexpected. nicolas, the bartender (or as the french would endearingly call him, the barman), develops the cocktails using both seasonal and typically french ingredients. cassis, anyone? from infused simple syrups to housemade bitters, chez moi gets their cocktails just right. bonus points for the sunny spot and the lace curtains. monday to wednesday the oysters are just a dollar, though i’d argue that splitting an order of moules frites makes for pretty good happy hour fare, too.

wow looks like a great spot! Great pics.
I love the brick wall! It looks like a lovely place to wind down after a day at work and with some friends!
this place looks so cute! i wish i lived closer to brooklyn… that neighborhood is adorable too. unfortunately i work in jersey, so we live across that OTHER river on the west side of manhattan… in jersey city (there are some cutie patootie places here too though!)
cheers š
be still my heart! walked by this place a few weeks ago and knew it was calling my name. date here next time i'm in brooklyn?!
yes, definitely.
Oh wow…I think I've just developed a bit of a crush!
that's exactly where i want to be right now. lovely blog!
Ahh I miss Brooklyn so much, I'm taking note for next time š x
I. LOVE. cassis!
I live in Brooklyn Heights and have passed Chez Moi a bunch of times, always wondering if it's good and if I should check it out. Your post totally convinced me to stroll in for dinner one night soon! Thanks.
I walked in here a few weeks ago (after being de-nied at Colonie) and had the most delicious cocktail and curried mussels. I'm not ashamed to admit that I used a spoon to sip up some of the broth when I was finished! Will certainly return š
And I know it's a bit trendy at the moment, but I also love the cocktails at Pok Pok. Who knew drinking vinegar could taste so sweet?
I adore your blog, Erin. It makes me so happy to see the little details of my neighborhood captured so beautifully.
thanks so much, leah. so glad to have a neighborhood reader!
wonderful!
It's simply perfect, those pictures are stunning!
