As many of you likely know, I’ve been the associate editor of Gardenista since last May. Getting to be fully entrenched in the land of gardening and working with a terrific group of editors and contributors was a total joy for me, but I’ve recently decided to leave my full-time position there to focus on some of my own work. I’ll still be contributing posts, so you’ll still be able to catch me over there with dirt under my nails, but I wanted to share the news here.
Jumping back into the freelance world is a scary leap—especially with a little one underfoot—but I’m looking forward to the challenge. And counting on that proverbial net to appear. Mostly, I’m really looking forward to spending a bit more time in this space.
PS. If you’re battling late-summer mosquitoes, pop over to Gardenista, where I shared a little insect repelling project this week; citronella not included.

i've been freelancing since forever. i believe those who take turn from their full-time job to freelance world must have lots of bravery in their bones. i hope you enjoy this ride 🙂
Congrats on the brave leap. Selfishly, I'm happy to hear it! It's not easy to find someone who writes so well about minimalism with kids. Looking forward to more inspiration about living with less (and kids!).
congratulations! I am looking forward to seeing more from you here. I appreciate so much of what you do.
looking forward to more tea leaves!
Congrats, Erin! your blog was the first I followed..and I've been an avid blog reader ever since 🙂 Can't wait to see what's in store!
Congrats, Erin! Choices like that are always a little scary, but it's so important to do what's right for your own well-being and growth. Can't wait to see you more in this space (and any others!) and to hear how you're making your freelance life work
What an exciting and brave decision. I for one am happy to hear you'll be spending more time in this space 🙂
Yay! Your posts are always so well put-together; beautiful and thoughtful writing, not to mention the warm photos that complement 🙂
Good Luck Erin, sounds wonderful! Looking forward to hearing all about your new ventures. Very inspiring!
Your inspiring thoughts and feelings are so beautifully and seamlessly expressed both visually and verbally. So this is real good news for us readers here, and there should come good news for you too in this very path in some way or another, I think, so good luck!!!, iLdi
Good luck mama! I know it's slightly terrifying for you, but it's very exciting for us readers! I can't wait to see what you end up diving into next! As I said before on IG, your blog is so inspiring on so many levels! It has quickly become my favorite, and even more since you've had a baby (I have 2, so I totally relate to your baby posts). In a way, I will live vicariously through you because I can only dream of doing what you're doing so I can be home with my babies more!
Congratulations, Erin! So excited about what's ahead for you.
I'm so far behind on my blog reading it's not funny, so apologies for this late comment but I wanted to wish you good luck on your freelance venture
