five little things that made my week.
1. this aluminum pot for a natural dyeing project.
{found and thrifted by my mom. also a good stand-in for a witch’s cauldron should we need one.}
2. this snack.
{because i lost track of how many times i ate it this week alone.}
3. this tiny puppy.
{tucked into my bag before leaving to work for the day by someone who thought i might need a friend.}
4. this epsom salt.
{because i’m nearing that stage of pregnancy when it’s starting to feel like a nightly bath is in order.}
5. this fluffy corner.
{cause sometimes knowing your kiddo’s snuggly is the best comfort there is.}
other things:
wasting time watching better versions of me.
gifs from the national archives.
ps. today’s the last day to register to vote in new york.
pps. there’s a newsletter heading your way later this afternoon. it’s about comfort (and comfort food).

Hey Erin, we’re trying to decide on a duvet for our daughter, so the timing of this is perfect. Did you guys go for the down or the down alternative? (Btw, I was really happy to read Parachute’s “responsible down standard’!!)
Oh, good! We ultimately went for the lightweight down duvet. It’s been perfect so far and though I doubt she’ll need it in our overheated NYC apartment, we can always layer another blanket on top if she’s chilly!
You have the best Week in Objects lists of any blog. Just love your descriptions and why these objects are special. Looking forward to them all week, every week. Makes me appreciate small things in life.
Agreed!
you’re a very good writer erin. i appreciated the newsletter. don’t despair. it’s a wound that needs exposure. healing is happening.
Just read your newsletter. Almost cried. I’m always so sad when I hear and see certain things. I’m not American and I’m not in the US but I heard that clip of him one night and it kept me awake. Also because after hearing that I saw an interview of a woman defending him and saying “that’s men talk”, sincerely and not being sarcastic I felt sorry for her. I do believe things will change, but oh man these are hard times. As Samuel Becket said ” can’t go on. I will go on.” 🙂 wishing you a wonderful weekend! Ps- I left a note in one of the other posts about that photo thief, did you get the comment (totally understand if you deleted it!)
Number 2 brought back a flood of wonderful memories. I ate that same snack when I was pregnant with my second son. I could not get enough of it. I always look forward to your Friday post.
Erin you do such a beautiful job. These types of post inspire me in so many ways. I absolutely love them! Can’t wait to see what you do next.
