my week in objects (mostly).

March 8, 2019

1. this cilantro.

{and the impromptu big family dinner it helped garnish.}

2. this shea butter.

{because sometimes all i need to get out of a winter funk is a little moisture.}

3. this tea service.

{and the endless cups of invisible tea i was served this week.}

4. these little straps.

{and not needing to reposition the pack forty times an afternoon.}

5. this repair.

{because.}

other things:

the power of female friendship.

the double shift.

home alone (and hungry).

variety doesn’t really matter to me.

we live for the we.

“real” women.

kotton.

a little adhesive and a lot of luck.

    Thanks for that same lunch article! I don’t always have the same lunch now but I have definitely gone through periods where I have. I am packing my son’s lunch now and he gets so little variety (sandwich either meat or cheese, vegetable leftover or cucumber, and fruit, usually strawberries). I’ve heard his teachers comment on it and hadn’t thought much of it (I guess I assumed everyone more or less had the same lunch) — now I feel a little pressure to change it up!

    Cilantro tastes like soap to me, to my husband, and to one of our two sons. The older son loves cilantro.

    It’s a fact that those of us who perceive cilantro as tasting like soap have a gene that makes that so. Look it up!

    Wishing all well!
