2. these well-loved paints.

{and little guy who runs to use them ~5x a day.}

3. this basil.

{for being cheapest, most fragrant, most delicious thing i’ve stuck in a vase all summer.}

4. this beautiful embroidery.

{for getting tucked in a suitcase in damascus and carried here to us.}

5. this little apron.

{and the early morning potion-making.}

other things:

first week of june.

paying attention to the war at home.

melt the guns.

a lifetime of labor.

baffling, even to experts.

    I live in a lyme endemic area, and take it seriously. IT is so complicated because ticks have been weaponized by the Army at Fort Dietrich for use as bioweapons. I know it sounds crazy, and I am definitely not a conspiracy theorist, this just sounds like the truth.

    I have to say you post the most arresting things. I applaud you and admire you. I am 80 and I hope for the best for you and all who come after. Prospects for the future are appalling, but it is people like you who can change it.
