my week in objects (mostly).

January 22, 2021

1. this headband.

{not to jinx anything, but it’s been days since i’ve seen the bow.}

2. this moon calendar.

{and our nightly moon watch.}

3. this shower curtain.

{and surrendering to the fact that it’s gonna serve as a blackout curtain for awhile.}

4. this ARC.

{of my mom’s new book, blowing into bookstores this march.}

5. this lamp.

{and test-driving a bedside solution.}

other things:

holding space.

is it BS?

it is the precedent of this “unprecedented” time that reveals the power of people against prejudice and pandemics alike.

deplatforming works.

are they ready?

accept the reality of what has happened.

the lives of east end.

get curious.

the mittenology of it all.

    Re: the article on Bernie’s mittens. As a knitter, my feathers were a bit ruffled when the writer referred to them as “ratty,” because those mittens were knitted for him by a second grade teacher out of repurposed wool. So there!

    I give a big thumbs up to the rest of the article. And for those who refer to Bernie as a grumpy old man, remember: You are only as old as your ideas.
