growing up, one of my very favorite christmastime books was cobweb christmas. the little picture book tells the story of an old woman called tante, who in preparation for christmas has cleaned her house {at the edge of a pine forest} from top to bottom. in her haste to ready the house for the holiday, she forgets to clean out the spiders, and in the morning they have woven her magnificent cobwebs that shimmer over the whole cottage.
i’ve been thinking about the story ever since pia posted these beautiful photos from shane waltner’s installation, aunt peggy has departed.
positively lovely and perfect for a cobweb christmas. happy december.
