my new downtown.

adlers
on wednesdays i usually post photos from my downtown. only, as you know, there’s been a bit of a change. i have a new downtown. this week has been filled with nesting activities, most of which include very hot water and a rag, and so i haven’t had the chance to wander the streets with my camera. but i thought i would share with you one of my favorite features of my new downtown: adler’s hardware store. it’s only blocks from my house and chock full of everything my heart desires. i love the smell of hardware stores and shopping in them is so gratifying. where else can you find the perfect little something that costs less than a dollar?

anyway, thank you all for your patience during the move. i know i haven’t found the time to visit your spaces and see what you’ve been up to–soon enough. if the internet holds up, i’ll be back tomorrow with someone else’s downtown!

xo, erin

Love the hardware store also. Much prefer it to the mega-monster places.

    Hope you're hangin' in.

I spend a lot of time in hardware stores these days myself. Congrats on your change of scenery. Very exciting.

I was wondering… how do you choose your guests for someone else's downtown? I'd love to show you mine sometime if you're interested.

Hardware store is basically synonymous with treasure hunt.

I don't usually visit hardware stores, but that photo is great and almost makes me want to go find one… though, in my town they don't look like that (think lowes and home depot! 🙂

Hi Erin — I just stumbled onto your blog, and this picture totally made my day. I'll be headed back to Brown for my 5 year reunion in May, and this familiar image got me excited. I've enjoyed browsing around, and I'll definitely be checking back to see what's new in Providence. Good luck, and please keep a seat at Tealuxe warm for me for my upcoming trip! 🙂
