i was going to turn these gratuitous shots of snow into a my downtown post, but it turns out i have too much to say, and iβm not really blogging according to my regularly scheduled programming right now anyway.i woke up this morning to a blanket of fresh white snow and my twenty-five year old heart nearly stopped beating. suddenly i was seven years old again, running up the stairs to the loft to peer out of the attic windows at my neighborhood, transformed. i donβt care how much you might hate dealing with a winter of snow and ice, there is nothing as beautiful as a fresh snow fall in the early morning. the way the light inside changes, and how you know, before even opening a curtain, that something is changed. the way the street looks, all white, with no tire tracks. the way the tree branches hang, droopy under the weight of the snow. wonder. as far as iβm concerned, these early morning moments are as good a reason as any never to check the weather report.wishing you all cozy days. i promise iβll be coming back soon. just one more week left now.

I'm so jealous! The snow looks beautiful..!
lovely! it's a square dance, isn't it? Here near the sea it is pouring rain, so, as for me, I shall go driving to the snowflakes…
unbelievably gorgeous!!! i am so jealous, i haven't seen snow in SO long!
Wow! Beautiful shots!!
as usual, a beautiful post. i woke up with the same wonder this morning! it was so quiet… that's usually my first sign that it snowed. π anyway, best of luck with finals and end of the year stuff. π

i love that change in the light too! all this snow talk is making me wish for snow when i go upstate this weekend.
your street looks heavenly.
Gorgeous! Makes me jealous (although I'm a hothouse flower due to growing up in SoCal and I would probably die in the snow).
I missing snow. We haven't had any yet here in the Seattle area. Thank you for these beautiful pictures! You have such a beautiful touch with your lense.
i love your snow shots, especially the third one.
thank you, friends! glad you love the snow, too. sorry to report that it's mostly melted what with lots of rain this afternoon, but it makes me all the more grateful for staying awake this morning to watch it! xo.
these photos are so gorgeous and they are making me envious! I love the way you described the snow too…. seeing it in the morning really can make your heart leap!
oh happy snow! your photos are beautiful and make me miss snow (but not the cold). π hope your last week of school/finals goes well!
The first snow…I love the way it rests on the leafless tree branches. So beautiful. I'm missing my years of living where it snows, especially the experience of seeing the first snow of the year.
I. love. this. SNOW.

We are completely snowed under here and in the deep freeze. It is all about thick tights, cozy scarves, lots of cuppas and fleece sheets! While the roads are layered with ice and snow, it is a gorgeous ride to work! I hope you get some more flakes to take lovely shots of!
