a new little series for the tea leaves: an object, weekly. each week, a handmade, or otherwise finely crafted object that i wouldn’t mind very much adding to my collection of weekly objects.
this week, the 232 duffle by billykirk. made of cotton waxed canvas and handmade in pennsylvania, this duffle is not only incredibly handsome, but mighty useful.
just think of the adventures the two of us would have! this week, i would pack him full of warm woolly socks, a flannel shirt or two, my ripped up jeans and some trusty boots, and head for the hills. the first day of fall is thursday, and i want to get right in the action.
head to the billykirk website to read a lovely interview about the company. and head to the blackbird site for a duffle of your very own.
what would you put in your duffle, i’d like to know?

charming bag, filled with flannel and favorite jeans
love the new series, too 🙂
This bag is perfect- along the same lines at the LL Bean boat and tote that we used for everything when I was growing up, but chic-er.
Right now, I'd definitely fill a tote like this with flannel and hiking boots for a trip to New Hampshire. That sounds so perfect for the beginning of fall.
Comfy jeans, sweatshirts, thick wool socks, and my hiking boots! Plus, some granola – it's hiking time!
i'm really excited for this series. you always find the loveliest goods!
what you would pack sounds so blissful – i can' even begin to wrap my head around it though, seeing it's still in the upper 80s and humid here.
I would pack that lovely duffle full of cozy sweaters, socks, and leggings and head to a cabin in the Maine woods for a delightful fall weekend full of relaxation!
Oh great duffle bag. I'd fill it with cameras and film and moleskine notebooks and pens and hit the road.
the bag is perfect
