on saturday, james and i took a drive up to pawtucket to indulge in a little breakfast out. kafe lila is one of my very favorite breakfast spots. it’s the combination of formica table-tops, velour couches, vintage dishes, and really, really tasty tomato jam that keeps me coming back for more. the perfect stop for a weekend morning.

p.s. what’s your recipe for the perfect cafe?

Loving those world atlas coffee cups. I'm assuming they are vintage, but if anyone knows of a place I can pick them up, do tell!

    Love those little shots.

My perfect would be eggs and avocados, beach and breezes with my honey.

Or now, a homemade latte snow softly falling. Watching the world from our own little cafe-at-home.

looks so great- as far as perfect breakfast, we have a little cafe here in Houston that does bottomless mimosas and bloody marys on sundays for under 10$. it is pretty fantastic.

My favorite cafes have good French toast and delicious coffee. And if they can poach a proper medium egg…well then they are beyond perfect and I'm a customer for life.

It looks like a darling spot. My recipe? So difficult to quantify… The food must be excellent and the vibe must be comfortable. It can take many forms.

Ha!Nescafe World Cups–my era, and we had 'em–had to send in labels, I think, or inner jar cap liners or some such and then they would come by mail, two by two, as I recall, in a little brown cardboard box! I guess they all broke eventually–but they were great in the hand, so plump and global. All gone now, I guess.

This looks like SUCH an inviting spot!

My recipe for the perfect breakfast cafe? Limited seating (it has to feel intimate!), old tables and chairs (it has to feel like it's been there since my grandparents were my age) and awesome pancakes!
